Organic Chemistry Lecture Notes by MIT Open Courseware
These lecture notes cover the topic of sigmatropic rearrangements in organic chemistry. The notes discuss the Woodward-Hoffmann rules for sigmatropic rearrangements, the stereochemical course of these reactions, and the different modes (thermal and photochemical) in which they can occur. The notes also provide a summary of Unit 3, which includes molecular orbital theory and pericyclic reactions such as cycloaddition reactions and electrocyclic reactions. Various examples and explanations are provided throughout the notes. From the class Organic Chemistry Ii Fall 2003
